Model B406 (from ebay )
This is a unique opportunity to buy a 3-Phase Permanent Magnet Generator suitable for making your own wind or waterturbine, or to use as part of a petrol/diesel powered generator for battery charging. The generator produces over 800W when used to charge 24V battery banks, and it does this at only 500 RPM!!!!. These generators are the latest ones used on the recently launched Vortex Range of wind turbines www.vortexturbines.com If you'd like to build a simple wind turbine, then you can use thisgenerator and only a few other components to make a very versatile, low rpm, high output system.
Alternatively, use the generator with a water wheel or engine to make a low voltage charger unit forbatteries. You could charge 12V 24V 36V or 48V batteries with this generator. All you need to do is adjust the rpm accordingly. The maximum output we've had from this generator is 1.6kW, whenused as a small scale wind turbine, in a very strong gale one evening.
The generator itself is very compact as you can see from the dimensions shown in one of the pictures. Overall size – Diameter174mm x Depth 70mm. Shaft diameter 18mm. It weighs around 10Kg, so is really light compared to some of the really heavy alternatives used on small turbines. The front of the generator is fittedwith 6 x 6mm bolts at a radius of 40mm from the generator's centre. Use these bolts to bolt an adapter plate to, allowing any blade sets you may have to be used as a turbine. Use up to a maximumof 6 blades, and a diameter of 2m or less to get a decent performance. We've tested this generator with Hornet blades, but these are designed to rotate very fast, and are not ideal for this typeof generator. You can use a set of blade extenders with a set of hornet blades to give you a very decent performance of 800W in only 12.5m/s winds. Power output graphs available in pdf format at...
