Netherlands or also known as Holland, is a country located in Central Europe Their language is officially recognized as the Dutch, although its official name is neerlandes, its currencyis the euro and one of its most practiced religion is Christianity, followed by the Dutch Reformed Church
During the seventeenth century, the Netherlands became the major trader in the world, this dueto its strategic location on the European continent, but above all thanks to the Colonial Empire that this small nation was able to build both in Asia and in America.
Today, despite having lost mostof its overseas possessions, the country maintains its commercial power status and even has the busiest seaport in the world. Until the year 2009 is the sixth largest exporter.
Often confused withalso the Netherlands known as the Benelux Customs Union formed by Belgium, Netherlands & Luxembourg, the denomination is based in the intergovernmental agreement that took effect in 1944.
Politicsof the Netherlands
The Netherlands form a constitutional monarchy and its liberal policies have drawn worldwide attention particularly in the area of drug use, prostitution & Euthanasia. Thecountry is described as a state of sociopolitical consolidation even to project itself as a status quo of the world's countries.
The policies of his government are characterized by an effort to achievebroad consensus on important decisions within the political community and society as a whole.
The state also is characterized by political and social reform institutions like the family and therebyallow the entry of new ways of social coexistence such as same-sex marriage, transsexuality, prostitution, euthanasia, cloning and the use of recreational drugs.

The foreign policy of theNetherlands focuses on the defense of the interests of the kingdom and is chaired by the desire to promote peace, freedom, prosperity and the international legal order.
