History:
Through inheritance and conquest all the Netherlands came under the possession of the Habsburg dynasty under Charles V in the sixteenth century, who unified them into onestate. 
The east of the Netherlands was occupied only a few decades before the Dutch struggle for independence.
Independence was signed on January 30, 1648

Today, the Netherlands isregarded as a liberal country, considering its drugs policy and its legalization of euthanasia.
On 1 April 2001, the Netherlands became the first nation to recognize same-sex marriage.

Climate:Winter: occur from December until February.
Summer: occur from march until June
Autumn: occur from July until august.
Spring: occur from September until august.

Politics:
Democracy parliamentarysince 1848.

Economy:
The Netherlands introduced the euro in 2002. It is one of 17 countries that make up the Euro zone.
Population:
The Netherlands has an estimated population of 16,735,100 (asof 5 November 2011).[65] It is the 11th most populous country in Europe and the 61st most populous country in the world.

Language:
The official language is Dutch, which is spoken by the vastmajority of the inhabitants. Another official language is Frisian, which is spoken in the northern province of Friesland, called Fryslân in that language.

The Netherlands has had manywell-known painters. The 17th century, when the Dutch republic was prosperous, was the age of the "Dutch Masters
