Security is a matter of importance to everyone, specially in a small city like La Lima. Lately, La Lima has been host of a lot of bloodshed due to theconstant threat that gangs, and illegal affairs, but with this new Major, Dr. Astor Amaya, this situation has improved a little bit comparing to a fewyears back.
The security issue is not only about being safe at night when you go to sleep, but it also covers the public transportation, businesssecurity, and also the fact that you might put your life at risk everytime you go out of your house in night time. People are tired to live under suchdenigrating conditions.
I have read a few articles on the newspaper saying that city hall authorities, had placed military forces on public transportationvehicles, like buses and “microbuses”, as they are known. I felt good knowing that people can have a level of security good enough for them to feel safe whileusing this service.
Not everything is wrong, in fact, even though we might not notice it, police and military forces are getting organized to serve andprotect the people; that’s something to be encouraged about, it’s all about making the right choices, like demanding, in a civilized way, what we want.We want for the street lighting to be in full function, we want for the police to be in time wherever they are needed, we want peace in our town;people want to feel safe when they leave houses, those are the things that we should demand, in the correct way, because it is nothing less than we deserve.
