The Lord of Sipan




The Lord of Sipan was an ancient ruler of the third century, whose domain covered an area of Peru today. Peruvian archaeologist Walter Alva, with his team, discovered thetomb of the Lord of Sipan in 1987 The discovery of the Royal Tombs of Sipan marked an important milestone in the archeology of the Americas because, first, it was found intact without signs oflooting, a royal burial of a Peruvian Inca civilization. The coffin of reeds in which it was found, was the first of its kind to be found in America and revealed the magnificence and majesty of the soleruler and warrior of ancient Peru found to date of its discovery, whose life was spent around 250 of the current era.

LOCATION
His discovery was made in the population center of Sipan in Chiclayo,Saltur annex belonging to the district of Zana; belonged to the Moche culture that worshiped the god Ai Apaec main deity, although they also worshiped the sea and the moon

ElSeñor de Sipán fue un antiguo gobernante del siglo III, cuyo dominio abarcó una zona del actual Perú. El arqueólogo peruano Walter Alva, junto a su equipo, descubrió la tumba del Señor de Sipán en1987. El hallazgo de las tumbas reales del Señor de Sipán marcó un importante hito en la arqueología del continente americano porque, por primera vez, se halló intacto y sin huellas de saqueos, unentierro real de una civilización peruana anterior a los Incas. El ataúd de cañas en que se halló, fue el primero en su tipo que se encontró en América y reveló la magnificencia y majestuosidad del únicogobernante y guerrero del antiguo Perú encontrado hasta la fecha de su descubrimiento, cuya vida transcurrió alrededor del año 250 de la era actual.

UBICACIÓN
Su descubrimiento se realizó en elcentro poblado de Sipán en Chiclayo, anexo de Saltur y perteneciente al distrito de Zaña; perteneció a la cultura Moche que rendía culto al dios Ai Apaec como divinidad principal, aunque también...
