Introduction

New York is know as “The big apple” or “The city that never sleeps”, is the city more populated of the United States of America, with more than 7 millions of habitants.
It’s located on the east coast, New York is found to 380 kilometres of the of United States capital’s, Washington D.C.
It is situated in the mouth of Hudson’s river. This river forms a port protected and flowsin the Atlantic Ocean, moreover it has helped to increase the size of the city and its commercial important.
The city are composed by five district: Manhattan, Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island.
The 36% of the population wasn’t born in the United States.
Today its 7 millions of habitants speak 80 languages, so New York has become in the headquarters of the culture and the leisure ofNorth America, and the financial center.
New York has an humid continental climate, it has cold winter but the coastal situation of the city keep the temperatures a little bit warm than in interior regions.

Now we are going to visit the most important and interesting places for us, that are situated in Manhattan by chance.
The tour starts in the North and we are going to go down until the Statueof Liberty and trough the Bridge of Brooklyn we will go up to the North again.
The places that we are going to visit are:

5. Empire State Building
6. Chinatown
7. Ground Zero
8. Statue of Liberty
9. Brooklyn’s Bridge
10. Wall Street

American Museum of Natural History

It is the biggest museum of Natural History of the wordl. The original building opened its doors in 1877. Since then it has grown and now it extends three blocks.
Its exhibitions show the evolution of life on the Earth and a lot of these are amazingly true.
The more popular areas are the dinosaurs’ area, the meteorites’ area andthe room of minerals, where there are jewels that are valued at 50 millions dollars.
In the first floor it is shown the life in the oceans, the American mammals, the meteorites, the minerals and the dinosaurs.
The animals and the African, Asian and American towns are in the second floor.
In the third floor we can find the north American Indian, the birds, the amphibious and the reptiles.
In thefourth floor are the marine fossils.

Central Park

Central Park is a large public, urban park that occupies over 341 hectares in the heart of Manhattan . It is host to approximately twenty-five million visitors each year. Central Park was opened in 1859, completed in 1873 and designated a National Historic Landmark in 1963.
The park was designed by the famous landscape architect FrederickLaw Olmsted and the architect Calvert Vaux. While much of the park looks natural, it is in fact almost entirely landscaped. It contains several natural-looking lakes and ponds, extensive walking tracks, two ice-skating rinks (one of which is a swimming pool in July and August), the Central Park Zoo, the Central Park Conservatory Garden, a wildlife sanctuary, a large area of natural woods, areservoir with an encircling running track, and the outdoor Delacorte Theatre which hosts the "Shakespeare in the Park" summer festivals. Eighty-five per cent of the park's operating budget comes from private sources via the Central Park Conservancy, which manages the park pursuant to a contract with New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.

Columbia University

Columbia's University, in theNew York City is an institution deprived of university education, and one of the most prestigious of the world. He is a member of the Ivy League. Founded in 1754 under a decree of the king Jorge II of England, Columbia has grown up to including 14 schools and associate powers.
