Genoma.
Se define genoma al pool génico de una determinada especie. En organismos eucarióticos se concentra en el ADN del núcleo, aunque también, las mitocondrias y los cloroplastos tienen genes.-------------------------------------------------
En genética las investigaciones que se realizan respecto al genoma no se ocupan de indagar acerca de la diversidad genética o de los alelos. Para detectar una variante específica o en caso de enfermedades se utiliza el cotejo entre individuos a través del genotipado.

Genoma Extranuclear.
El genoma Extranuclear es el que se encuentra presente en mitocondrias (enanimales y vegetales) y en cloroplastos (en vegetales). En todos los seres vivos, se hereda por vía materna, esto es: este conjunto de genes sólo se expresa en la progenie por el óvulo o macrogameto, ya que aporta el citoplasma en la concepción a diferencia del espermatozoide o microgameto que aporta núcleo, mitocondrias y microtúbulos (que participaran en las sucesivas divisiones celulares...
