About four years ago, President -Elect Barack Obama addressed the United States and countries beyond American territory a speech which not only described how America, as a nation, has overcomedifferent scenarios through history, but most importantly how change can transform and lead a nation to triumphant results. In order to influence the audience, President-Elect Barack Obama utilizeddifferent persuasive literary techniques such as pathos, ethos, inductive organization, repetition, and foreshadowing.

President-Elect Barrack Obama implemented Pathos and Ethos thru out the electoralspeech in order to create an appeal based on emotion and also on presidential character. President -Elect Obama addresses many points based on pathos. The first point is how America is formed by differentraces, different economical status and different preferences. In his second point he addressed that victory belongs to the citizens. He pointed out how without the hard work and sacrifice of manyhis victory would not have occurred. The third pathos example is when he states the challenge which many citizens are going through such as the financial crisis, the fighting soldiers risking theirlives in Afghanistan and Iraq, and a planet at risk. Ethos style was also used in his speech. President -Elect Obama offers the audience credibility by expressing how the nation will reach the promisedgoals in a reasonable timeline no matter how hard it may be. “I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you – we as a people will get there,” saidPresident-Elect Barrack Obama.

The electoral speech given by President -Elect Barack Obama was presented and developed in an inductive organization. By using this type of organization President –Elect Obamafirst presented how America is a strong nation under the power of democracy formed by many valuable citizens.
