Oral Report Lollapalooza
The truth is that I want to study business engineering but I would like to work in something related to the music industry, like sound technician, a band manager orevent producer. I hope this dream can be realized, but I know that is really difficult here in Chile to work in this area. In these last years I have been seeing that my dream could become true aslong as many music festivals are being introduced in our country and that many international bands are interested in coming to Chile. If I work hard I know that someday I’ll achieve my dream.
Now I’mgoing to talk about a massive music festival that was introduced this year in our country and had a great success in the musical and economical way. I know that many of you probably already guesswhat festival I’m talking about: LOLLAPALOOZA.
Lollapalooza is an annual music festival featuring popular alternative rock, heavy metal, punk rock and hip hop bands, dance and comedy performances.Conceived and created in 1991 by Jane's Addiction singer Perry Farrell as a farewell tour for his band, Lollapalooza ran annually until 1997, and was revived in 2003. In 2011, in its twentiethanniversary, it was announced that Lollapalooza would debut overseas, with a branch of the festival staged in Chile's capital Santiago.
This Chilean lollapalooza received lot of praise from the world press.It is estimated that about 100,000 people attended this event. The event was totally successful, people behaved very well, even helping the environment thanks to the incentive given by the producersand participation of an organization related to the environment.
It was also an excellent event for children thanks to the realization of kidzapalloza, a side event that featured comic, artistic andmusic shows oriented to the kids.
There weren’t only artistic and comic performances only for the children. A lot of workshops were available in the event and comedians like the magic twins also...
