May in somesongs like “It's Late” used the tapping later popularized by Eddie Van Halen, who mentions May as one of his greatest influences. This technique would serve to further harmonize the development of hardrock in the 1980s and 1990s.
The story of May start when he and Roger Taylor played in a band called Smile. This band split up after the arrival of Freddy Mercury who formed the band Queen. in 1975the band created the album "At night at the Opera" which was the album that launched them to fame. With songs like "bohemian rhapsody" which made the band be known throughout the world. After this,the band began to multiple cds followed by several concerts along with the fame of the group until Freddy mercury was infected with AIDS
After this the band made a series of concerts as "Live inWemblei" this was one of the most famous shows in the world. After the death of Mercury , May continued his career as a musician creating a series of records and supporting other artists on some songs.The characteristic of Brian May was the sound he gave to his guitar.he strummed the strings with a British coin sixpence. According to him, he manages to sound much more metallic and gave it more bodyto the sound.
But May was not only a guitarist, he also was an astrophysicist who graduated from the Imperial College London. In 2006 he finished his doctorate and in 2007 he was appointed Rectorhonorary John Moores University.
