Objective: to research the discovery, development, uses, benefits and drawbacks of a particulargroup of organic compounds, and then presenting that information.

Instructions:
1. Chose a group of organic compounds that you want to find more information on.
a. For example:antibiotics, drugs, herbicides/pesticides, fabrics (fibres), explosives or a particular organic group (e.g. Teflon, PABA [sunscreen], motor oil).
2. Use the following chart to organize your research. All 5elements need to be included!!
* Discovery: when was it discovered? Who discovered it?
* Development: how was it developed? For what purposes? What is its chemical formula?
* Uses: how dowe use it today? Why do we use it?
* Benefits: what are the benefits of using the organic compound? As opposed to another compound?
* Drawbacks: what are some disadvantages of using thisorganic compound? What are its impacts on the environment?
