PROJECT GUIDELINES

Writing for Talking
You must hand back this paper to the teacher along with yourwork.
(Not handing it back will affect the grade of your work.)
Delays regarding to the presentation of your work will demerit your grade
Your project grade will be considered as 50% of yourhomework grade.

- Due date: February, Thursday 7

- Before writing:
• Choose a topic that concerns you. You can write about situations with parents, with friends, with schoolwork, withvacations, with parties, etc .

- Contents of your essay:
• Introduction: Write a paragraph introducing your topic including one of the following phrases: “My cause for concern is….”, or “I want totalk about X because …..”.
• Presentation: Explain the reason why it concerns you including one of the following phrases: “Let me explain why….”, or “Some time ago….”, or “I’ve always beeninterested in ….”
• Sources: Explain where you have gotten information about your topic, which your sources are, including one of the following phrases: “Research shows that….”, or “I’ve haveexperienced that….”, or “I heard on the T. V. that…..”.
• Extension: Explain how your topic is related, or can aggravate, other situations including one of the following phrases: “Another thing is…..”“I’m also concerned about…..”. “Besides…..”.
• Conclusion: Explain what you can do to improve the situation including one of the following phrases: “From now on I will…..”, or “My commitment is to….”.- Instructions:
• Do not write the “title” of the paragraph. It’s contents must be so that the reader understands it’s purpose without having to write it.
• Each paragraph must contain atleast five sentences.
