1. Research how are: basic oxides, acid oxides, oxy acids, hydracids, hydroxides and saltsformed
* A basic oxide is a chemical compound formed by a metal and oxygen. Oxide of metal that react with acids to produce only salts and water.
* An acidic oxide. Oxide of non-metal that reactwith water to produce acids, also react with bases to produce salts.
* An oxyacid is an acid that contains an oxygen atom bonded to a hydrogen an at least one other element.
* A hydracidis an acid that does not contain any oxygen as opposed to an oxyacid; they are all binary compounds of hydrogen and a halogen or pseudohalogen.
* A hydroxide is a diatomic anion (moleculescomposed only of two atoms) with chemical formula OH−. It consists of oxygen and a hydrogen atom held together by a covalent bond, and carrying a negative electric charge. It is an important but usuallyminor constituent of water.
* Salts are ionic compounds that result from the neutralization reaction of an acid and a base. Salts are formed by a chemical reaction between:
* A base and an acid* A metal and an acid
* A metal an a non-metal
2. Research how to name basic oxides, acid oxides, oxy acids, hydracids, hydroxides and salts according to stock nomenclature
*A basic oxide according to the stock nomenclature is name by writing the name of the metal first and then “Oxide”, finally between parenthesis the number (in romans) of oxidation.
* An acidicoxide according to the stock nomenclature is name by writing he name of the non-metal first then the word “Oxide”, finally between parenthesis the number (in romans) of oxidation.
* An oxyacidaccording to the stock nomenclature is name first by recognizing the general formula HaXbOc. The X representing the element different form Hydrogen or Oxygen. If enough H+ ions are added to a...
