COLD CHAIN PROJECT OF COLON


The new market will be a building multilevel Colòn and the third was awarded for its early construction, public markets in Panama and Chiriqui are in progress, are 8 markets to be built in different provinces (cities) of our country: La Chorrera , Chitre, Las Tablas, Penonomé, Santiago.
The construction of this project public market inColòn is in charge of the consortium Omega Engineering Inc. (Puerto Rico), who was awarded to build and equip the future site of the public market in the city of Columbus.
Tender:
Was set to bid a reference price - $ 18 million - by the Cold Chain for the Public Market in Colòn.
Six companies submitted their proposals on 21 September (2011):
• MCM Global Consortium - (19 million 790 thousandU.S. dollars)
• Elecnor-Cleop - (18 million 785 thousand U.S. dollars)
• Cocige Inc. - (18 million 750 thousand dollars);
• Omega Consortium - (17 million 779 thousand U.S. dollars)
• Consortium Contracts HPC-SA-P & V - (17 million 548 thousand U.S. dollars)
• Urban Construction Inc. - (17 million 500 thousand dollars).
The consortium Omega Engineering Inc., complied with the requirementsof the tender fee, tender is won and was awarded the project on October 4 (2011), the bid for this work, Omega Engineering was 17 million 779 thousand dollars.
Omega Engineering has 15 months since it was given the order to proceed to finalize the Colòn market, to be located between Central Avenue and 12th Street. The province of Colon is on the Atlantic Panama.
Cold Chain:
Cold Chain is tomonitor continuously the temperature at every stage a food, from production to consumption, guaranteed the quality of agricultural products.
The Cold Chain Project aims to provide the Panamanian population of good quality food at low costs, and benefits to traders and producers.
PRISIONS PROJECTS



Due to the need for new prisons, the Ministry ofGovernment of Panama, most recently the design and construction bids for this type of infrastructure in the West and Chiriqui.
The new prison to the west of Panama tendered for 13 million dollars, this meets the land acquisition, development and approval of plans, as well as an environmental impact study in turn the design and then construction and equipment of new prison complex.
In the province ofChiriqui is a new prison bids worth $ 19 million, with the same requirements of land acquisition, development and approval of plans, environmental impact assessment, design, construction and equipment.

For prisons in Panama City, already have projects in progress, it is important to emphasize that there is overcrowding in Panama, for the time beingdelivered this year 2012, a new pavilion which will house some 208 detainees in 52 cells for 4 private rooms with certain requirements for such structures, this in the prison "La Joyita" at an approximate cost of $ 306 000.
The New Jewel is one of the prisons under construction, which will have five centers, well equipped with safety standards, the value for this new prison complex is about 160million, the biggest concern here is to counter prison overcrowding in our country and re-socialize these people.

PROJECT BRIDGE OVER THE PANAMA CANAL

Studies and preliminary design of a new bridge over the Panama Canal in the Pacific, have been launched, the work hopes to unite the areas of Amador and Howard.
The new bridge will encourage the entry of the Pacific through the canal, rememberthat much of the continent's trade using the Panama Canal as a means of transit.
The specific date of the tender for the construction of the new bridge has not been known, but authorities indicated to be announced soon.
The current Bridge of the Americas promises to be demolished once the work of completed Canal expansion, by hinder the passage of large boats that choose this route.
