The simple present is used to express the truth, permanence and habits or daily routines also weuse simple present to talk about things that will happen
Example: The sun it’s a star// he lives in Spain// She always gets up at 5.
We use adverbs of frequency to explain how often we do manythings
Example: I usually do my Homework
In the simple present we have rules about the third person
These rules deal about to add the S, ES and IES to the verb but depend on the termination to theverb.
In the case of the S the terminations are: m, n, r, t, d, w, e, Vowel + Y, L, g, k, and p.
In the case of the ES the terminations are: O, CH, SH and x
In the case of the IES the terminationsare: Consonant + Y
Examples: S= Run- Runs// ES= Search- Searches// IES: Cry- Cries
The formula to do positives sentences is:
Subject + Verb (in the basic form) + Complement
Ex: I do the HomeworkWhen we use adverbs of frequency we put the adverbs between the subject and the verb
Ex: We + always + talk + in the classroom
Subject// Adverbs // Verb // ComplementOf
Frequency
For the third person is:
Subject + verb (S, ES, IES depend of the termination of the verb) + Complement
Ex: The baby crieseveryday
In the simple present we use Auxiliaries to do the negative sentences and the questions.
The formula to do negative sentences is:
Subject + don’t (auxiliary) + Verb (in the basic form) +Complement
Ex: I don’t organize my room
The formula to do Yes/No questions is
Auxiliary (Does/ do) + Subject + Verb (in the basic form) + Complement?
Ex: Do you cry in the night? No I don’tThe formula to do Wh questions is:
Wh + Auxiliary (Does/ do) + subject + Verb (in the basic form) + Complement?
