The information in this article applies to:
· Microsoft Operations Manager 2005SP1
Summary
A problem has been identified in Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 (MOM) when a computer enters hibernation mode while a MOM script is running.
Symptoms
When affected by this issue,the MOM script may timeout when running on a client that enters hibernation. This applies to all MOM scripts including service discovery scripts and script responses. The issue is more likely tohappen, but not limited to, client operating systems.
After applying the fix, hibernation will not affect MOM scripts.
Installation
This hotfix must be applied to each computer that meets the followingcriteria:
· Hosts a Microsoft Operations Manager Management Server 2005 SP1
· Hosts a Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 Agent SP1
To apply this hotfix, you must first:
1. CopyMOM2005-RTM-KB926665-X86-IA64-ENU MSI
to a local folder or accessible network share
2. Run MOM2005-RTM-KB926665-X86-IA64-ENU.MSI
locally on each applicable computer that meets the predefined criteria.
NoteYou can run MOM2005-RTM-KB926665-X86-IA64-ENU.MSI from either Windows Explorer or from a command prompt.
The computer will restart the MOM Service when the patch is being applied.
To apply thehotfix in your MOM environment, do the following:
· Manually update each MOM Server in your MOM management groups.
To apply a hotfix for the MOM Agent component, do the following:
· Use the MOMAdministrator console to apply the hotfix to MOM agents with Control Level = Full. A list of agents that can be automatically updated is shown in the MOM Administrator console > MOM > Administration >Computers > Pending Actions folder.
· Manually apply the hotfix on each MOM agent that is set with a Control Level = None. These agents, if any, are listed in MOM Administrator console > MOM >...
