Pasty war

The Pastry War was the first conflict between Mexico and France, its was from April 16th in 1838 to March 9 in 1839.
The first decades of Mexico's independent history, were of anarchy and disorderin the economic, political and demographic.
Domestic instability was reflected in all spheres of society, particularly in border migration and smuggling were common by the lack of supervision.Because of this and many problems, Mexico was in the sights of foreign countries willing to intervene when they saw fit.
Following the consummation of the Independent in 1821, the fraceses, who professedthe same religion, and also belonged to a culture that greatly influenced Mexican, could settle in the country, devoted to trade, small industry, craft and entering into the national army.
In 1827, hehad concluded an agreement with France under the name "Interim Statements", which laid the foundation for the future settlement of the relations between both countries.
The French colony wasprosperous and well seen in 1830 when France recognized the independence and the time when trade agreements were signed in 1831 and 1832, which granted the French nation and its citizens the most-favorednation treatment.
Rebellions and uprisings occurred in the first decades affected both Mexicans and foreigners, as well as the government forced loans imposed on the population to leave their financialhardship.
From these facts, and through Deffaudis Baron, French Ambassador, French traders coming up in Mexico sent a number of complaints that were received in Paris with alarm.
Among these claims,was that of Mr. rotate it, the owner of a restaurant Tacubaya, where some officials of President Santa Anna in 1832 he had eaten a cake without paying the bill, which required compensation. That wasthe reason that the Mexican people identify with this war with France under the name "Pastry War."
