➢ We use ´used to´ for past habits or states.

• He used to go out a lot when he was younger.
• Liz used to have short hair but it is long now.
•They used to live in the same street as us, so we often used to see them. But we don’t see them very often these days.
• Ann used to bite her nails when she was a child. But she doesn’tanymore.

➢ The negative form is ´didn’t use to´
• When I was a child, I didn’t use to like cats.
• My grandfather didn’t use to wear glasses a few years ago, but now he hasto.

➢ Sometimes you see ´never used to´ as the negative form.
