My name is Beowulf and my story begins when the Danish king Hrothgar was enjoying a greatreign and he began having trouble in his kingdom with a monster Grendel that has invaded his mead hall. The mead hall is the gathering place of the Danes where they sing and feast. For twelve yearsGrendel prevents anybody from entering the mead hall causing Hrothgar to be miserable.
From across the sea the Geats heard of the Danes terrible problem with Grendel and rushed Me and a group of mymen to aid the Danes. The men arrived and immediately prepare to take on Grendel at night. They camped out in the mead hall and waited for Grendel. When he came they were all asleep but Me, I was onlypretending to be asleep. Grendel snatched up one soldier and ate him. Next he reached to eat Me, I grabed Grendel's arm and riped it off. Grendel flew leaving a long trace of blood, and Me and my menrejoiced knowing Grendel was dead. I, as a signal of victory hanged Grenderl’s arm from the rafters of the mead hall.
Later that night Grendel's mother came to the mead hall to avenge her son'sdeath and snatched up one soldier quickly while also picking up her son's arm. She flew quickly however because she did not have the strength to battle like her son.
Me and my men were enraged so wefollowed her to her home under a lake. I dived into the lake and finds her lair. I struggled with her and eventually finded a sword that was shining from the light of God, I took and used it to beheadher. He later choped the head off of the dead Grendel and took it to the surface. I came out of the water and my men were all joyful as they went to give the great news to Hrothgar. The king wasecstatic and gave gifts to the men.
