Preparación de la perforación
Once the site has been selected, it must be surveyed to determine its boundaries, and environmental impactstudies may be done.
The land is cleared and leveled, access roads may be built
Because water is used in drilling, there must be a source of water nearby. If there is no naturalsource, they drill a water well.
They dig a reserve pit, wich is used to dispose of rocks cuttings and drilling mud during the drilling process, and line it with plastic to protect theenvironment. If the site is an ecologically sensitive area, such as a marsh or wilderness, then the cuttings and mud must be disposed offsite trucked away instead of placed in a pitPerforación vertical

Hydraulic Fracturing es utilizado para mejorar la baja permeabilidad, se inyectan fluidos,hasta que estés sobrepasen la fuerza de las rocas y se formen las fracturas, se inyecta proppano para evitar que se cierren las fracturas que se pueden cerrar una vez que la presión sedeja de ejercer.
La elección del fluido utilizado para el frac depende de muchos factores, pero eso se deja a la experimentación, cada reserva responde de diferente manera adistintos tipos de fluidos.
The term “shale” is often used very loosely when defining shale gas resources and does not act to strictly define the
lithology of the reservoir. Shalegas reservoirs often contain not only shale1 but also a variety of other rock types ranging
from mudstone to siltstone and fine-grained sandstone and commonly contain both siliceousand carbonate components
(Rokosh et al., 2009). These various rock types often form laminations that are interbedded together and combine to create a
unique producing reservoir.
