Personal Philosophy of Education

A philosophy will reflect the human part of the individual who is becoming a teacher. Teachers not only teach reading, math, writing, science, comprehension it also teach relationship, care, and understanding to mentioning few. As a teacher I need to know how I will make my studentsunderstand and remember the lesson or the material subjects teach.  Each child learns at his or her own pace. Some are more slowly than others.  A classroom is full of students waiting to learnsomething new and exciting everyday.  As their teacher I need to learn the ability that each child has to learn a lesson and focus on the ones with more difficulties.
In this past week I learn that existdifferent educational philosophies. I do not agree with a whole philosophy but among them I agree with some of the ideas.
* Perenninalism – which base on find the essence and discipline the mind.* Essentialism –everlasting truth.
* Behaviorism –change the student environment change his or her behavior.
* Positivism –acquisition of facts based on empirical observation.
*Progressivism –develop the student to become learners.
* Reconstructionism –teach students to analyze today’s society and change what is necessary.
* Humanism –enhance the individuality of thestudent.
* Constructivism –create learning situations where the student can discover the answer to important questions.
A student should master the basic reading, writing, and math. He or she alsoneeds knowledge of history and arts, be a person whom can contribute something positive in society, should have imagination, determination and dedication to prosper in life. A student should learnhow to make good decision also that the decisions make will bring positive or negative consequences in life.
