Are we Alone in the Universe?
Many of us quite frequently or at some point in our life have looked up at the beautiful sky and wondered about the endless possibilities of there being some kind of life millions and millions of miles away beyond the one we already know from our planet. For years we have asked ourselves if we are theonly civilization that reigns in this vast universe that expands until the limits of our imagination, or if there are other planets that support life. Many skeptics will answer to themselves saying that until we find an irrefutable proof of the existence of extraterrestrial life, we are the only life form there is to be known. Yet, events like UFO sightings, claims of alien abductions and somescientific evidence found, have suggested that some kind of intelligent life form; if not many, exists beyond our blue planet; and that we may have already been contacted and even visited by them.
Throughout many years strange events involving unidentified flying objects have been observed in places and by people all around the world; there have been so many reported cases of this kind ofevents, and there is a very large and consistent amount of UFO evidence that range from physical effects to sightings from qualified observers including highly trained military personnel such as pilots and radar operators, that extend over many decades and support the existence of life in outer space. An exemplary and very popular case of UFO phenomena that has remained all these years as a topic fordiscussion is the famous Roswell incident in the year 1947 where there were a great number of UFO sightings in the United States. In July 1947 Mack Brazel a rancher from the state of New Mexico; as he was riding his horse, came across of what appeared to be metal debris scattered over a large area. Struck by the unusual properties of the debris and upon further examination, Brazel observed a trenchthat had extended along several hundred feet and had been dug into the land. After Brazel reported the case, intelligence officer Mayor Jesse Marcel and senior CIC agent Captain Sheridan Cavitt were sent to investigate Brazel’s story. On July 7 that same year, Mayor Marcel took a first look at the debris field, where according to him the debris was "strewn over a wide area, I guess maybethree-quarters of a mile long and a few hundred feet wide" (qtd. In Roswell). Marcel picked up a piece of the metal debris and held a lighter to it, to see if any damage would occur, "I lit the cigarette lighter to some of this stuff and it didn't burn,” (qtd. In Roswell) he said. He also observed and described some pieces of the debris as being weightless that would neither break nor bend, and some otherpieces as being the thickness of tin foil that was indestructible, some of which had indecipherable symbols displayed in two colors. Soon enough the military arrived at the incident site and cleared all the debris. Apart from all the debris, there were other witnesses who saw bodies of what seemed to be extraterrestrials, arrive to Roswell’s air base hospital; one of those witnesses was a nursewhom provided a description of the bodies, and within days she was transferred to England, her whereabouts remain unknown. The case of this nurse is very similar to the cases of many people who have been silenced and even disappeared after the government finds out that they have witnessed or know some information regarding UFO’s. The previous case is a clear example of evidence governments aroundthe world have fiercely tried to cover up by arriving at the incident site and clearing all the evidence, silencing and even disappearing witnesses, always trying to convince the media and every one else that there is no evidence of extraterrestrials visiting the Earth. The following citation illustrates an example of how the government has the power to manipulate and
cover up the evidence:...
