Piura, founded as San Miguel de Piura, a city north of the western part of Peru, capital of the Department of Piura, located in the center west of thedepartment, in the valley of Piura in northern Sechura desert, to 973 km north of Lima and close to the border with Ecuador, is the sixth most populous country officially reached and projected tothe year 2012 INEI the 417,892

LIMITS

TYPICAL DISHES

• Dry chabelo: corned beef stew or beef jerky, and banana kneaded.
• Dry beans kid: tender goat stew,marinated in chicha de jora and vinegar, with beans seasoned with onion and garlic.
• Cebiche: raw fish cut into pieces, marinated in lemon juice, onion and pepper.
• Crushed cassavawith chicharron: boiled and pounded cassava with chili and accompanied by crackling.
• Chifles: fried plantain chips.
• The typical sweet custard (made with goat milk, molasses and finerice flour).
• The traditional drink is chicha (corn based drink boiled and fermented in earthen jars).
• Rice kid.
