JUSTIFICACION
El sector sanitario integra un mayor número de trabajadores, a su vez, el índice más
elevado de accidentes y enfermedades profesionales. Dado que su principal actividad
consiste en el tratamiento y el cuidado de enfermos, los problemas de salud laboral más
importantes que sufren estos trabajadores provienen,precisamente, del contacto físico y
emocional que establecen con los pacientes.
Como ejemplo citaremos el contagio de enfermedades, más o menos peligrosas, como la
tuberculosis, la hepatitis B y C o el SIDA; las lesiones musculo esqueléticas,
ocasionadas por la carga de trabajo y la manipulación de enfermos; y las patologías de
origen psicosocial (ansiedad, depresión, alteraciones digestivas,...
