Planeacion De La Enseñansa
Activity 1.1 Planeacion de la Enseñanza
Based on the ideas we saw in class, look for 2 other roles a Teacher performs in the class. Write theirdefinition and comments about it.
Teacher’s can be also viewed as Role Models. According to a dictionary definition I found, a role model is a person whose behavior, example, or success is or can be emulated (imitated) by others, especially by younger people. There could be good and bad role models. Even though we might not be awareof it, students look up to us. At times we spend a lot of hours with them, therefore they see us as examples for their lives.
Teacher’s can also be viewed asFacilitators. According to a dictionary definition I found, a Facilitator is a person responsible for leading or coordinating the work of a group. As Teachers we arefacilitating student learning, or at least that is expected of us. The way we facilitate learning varies from classroom to classroom, each teacher has his/her own way and style ofteaching. At the end, what is important is that our students are learning.
Personally, I like the role of a Facilitator better than a Role Model. Sometimes studentsdo not understand that we are human too, and we also make mistakes. Working with young adults has taught me that they are constantly looking up to us, therefore we haveto be aware of our behavior and our actions. In most of my classes I am always the counselor, guide, friend, and sometimes even a parent. A majority of my students arejust a few years younger than me, and after I’ve spent a few classes with me, they feel comfortable enough to share their problems and ask for some advice or guidance.
