siguen la numeración de la edición mencionada y responden a su partición

¡Como si una pequeña flor del Ártico
desde la orilla polar,
fuera vagando a través de latitudes,
hasta llegar desde la perplejidad
a continentes de verano,
firmamentos de sol,

hacia extrañas, luminosas matas de flores,
y de pájaros de lenguas extranjeras!
Digo, como si esta pequeña flor
al Edén estuviese viajando¿Qué entonces? Porqué, nada, sólo
¡tu pensamiento entonces!

[As if some little Artic flower, / upon the polar hem, / went wandering down the
latitudes, / until it puzzled came / to continents of summer, / to firmaments of sun, //
to strange, bright crowds of flowers, / and birds of foreign tongue! /I say, as if this
little flower / to Eden wandered in- / what then? Why, nothing, only / your inference
therefrom!]

La esperanza es el ser con plumas
que anida en el alma,
y canta una melodía sin palabras,
y nunca concluye del todo,

y la canción más dulce en ráfagas
/se oye;
pues debe estar molesta latormenta
que logra abatir al pájaro
que nos mantenía cálidos.

La escuché en la gélida tierra,
y en el más extraño mar;
aunque, jamás, en los confines
pidió una astilla de mí.

be the storm / that could abash thelittle bird / that kept so many warm. // I´ve heard

Si logro salvar un corazón de romperse,
no viviréen vano;
si logro borrar de una vida el dolor,
o enfriar una herida
o ayudar a un esfumado petirrojo
a regresar a su nido de nuevo,
no viviré en vano.

es una amiga poderosao el espía más agónico
que un enemigo pudiera enviar.

Segura contra sí misma

el alma en espanto permanece.
