Pollination is a vital process for the maintenance of biodiversity on earth. It depends nearly about 90% of flowering plants, the ones that would disappear if their visitors do not pollinate them. Inthis process, animals collect pollen (male gamete) produced by plants, transport it to the female parts of the flower and fertilize eggs, producing seeds and fruits.

In ecological terms, more than80% from the 250 thousand plants known in the world, pollination is essential for their sexual reproduction. The degree of dependence varies and depends on the reproductive system of each organism.Many plants have perfect flowers, i.e. they have both sexes in one flower or are hermaphrodites. Among these, some produce fruits without the presence of any extern agent, i.e., they self-pollinate.Considering that pollination is a process that directly involves the different species (of plants and pollinators), these plant-pollinator interactions are essential for the functioning ofterrestrial ecosystems and directly influence the genetic variability of organisms.
It is estimated that about 73% of the plants grown in the world and more than 75% global vegetation are pollinated by bees.Bats also pollinate flowers and disperse many seeds from commercial crops; therefore it is worrying that many of its population can be endangered.

Pollination is an essential process for bothnatural terrestrial ecosystems to those managed by men. Additionally, three quarters of the crops from which humans feed, depend on pollination. It is estimated that without pollinators a human could nothave 1 of every 3 bites of food that are consumed daily.
In Mexico, there is about 316 species of plants which are cultivated daily, from which 286 are designated for alimentation and 80 forvestments, dwelling or for ornamental species.
