Describe what is meant by and give examples of PostwarPessimism. After the war, people were disenchanted with the realities of industrialized warfare. There was so much needless death and suffering that nobody could find any way to rationalize it. People feltthat they were living in a world of endless crisis.
Detail the changes and advancements made in the areas of science (Physics and Psychology) as well as in art and architecture. Manyadvancements were made. Albert Einstein published the theory of relativity. Werner Heisenberg published his uncertainty principle, declaring that it is impossible to simultaneously know the location anddirection of a subatomic particle. Then Sigmud Freud came up with the basis for modern psychology. Dr. Freud focused on psychological explanations for mental illness. In art and architecture, PabloPicasso established himself as one of the greatest artists of all time. Salvador Dali embraced surrealist art. The Bauhaus style of architecture was a style that focused on functionality.
In 1929there was a global depression. What caused it? What government actions or ideas were developed to try to end it? The Great Depression was caused by several factors. Some of these include strains onthe financial system coming from loans to pay for the war, reduced demand for certain materials and overproduction. Government action included policies that reduced female employment.
