Poverty Foster Crime

We know that a child is born into poverty in the U.S. every 36 seconds and we see 12.8 million children (18%) living below the poverty line (Child Advocacy 360, 2007). We see that one in three poor males born today can expect to go to prison if current trends continue, and one ineight poor males in their 20s today are actually in prison or jail on any given day and in some cities more than 50% are under the supervision of the criminal justice system. (Child Advocacy 360, 2007). Although poverty isn’t most poor’s fault and is a main issue in now days society, and poor people tend to be become part of a huge percent of the criminals, because they need to fill their basicneeds, the values of those peoples are not well form, and the society they live given the circumstances to enter into such activities.

Is it enough to blame poor people for their own predicament? Have they been lazy, made poor decisions, and been solely responsible for their plight? What about their governments? Have they pursued policies that actually harm successful development? Such causes ofpoverty and inequality are no doubt real. But deeper and more global causes of poverty are often less discussed. People have tree basic need, being those food, shelter, and clothing. Now a days in American society we see 28.4 million children living in families below that $40,000 basic income level, so they are people who cannot always fulfill their basic needs (Shah, 2010). This cause lead tomany father to send their childrens to the streets in order to obtain money and those die for hunger, so some of them end up leaving their houses because they prefer use their obtain money in themselves instead in their family , so this gave them now tree basic need to fullfill , so they end stealing from people in order to eat, or to put some cloth on. This needs are primely solute with money, soin order to obtain that money they start to participate in gangs. Gangs that sold drugs or gangs that comite crimes or killings for money, and they grow deep and deep in that society. It may start for money to fullfill their hunger or because the were living under a bridge, but end in a way of leaving of witch they cannot come out. Some Youngs are send to pricion and when they go out they return tothe only think that they know to do, so they retur to their gangs (Lawrence, 2008). To sum up poor people tend to star their criminal activitys in order to fullfill their basic needs.

Bill Cunningham claimed that "poor people were not and are not poor because they lack money. They're poor because they lack values, ethics, and morals. (Cunningham, 2009)"Fathers communly say that they are theresponsable of what their kids do, what are their kids chooses in life, this is because they know that they don’t do their kid choises but the way they raises their kid is a main factor in whether they gonna reject bad offers like drugs or the pocibility of being in a gang. The reason is values, values that father teach their kid or values that kid learn from watching their fathers act, thosethings are the things that form kid values at home. I´m not saying that all poor people have low values, or their way of acting it’s a bad example, but it’s a fact that poor families tend to be a bad example for their childs, and kids seen their father steal, kids knowing that their fathers had kill someone it’s a huge factor in what decision their gonna make when they found themselves in hunger, or...
