Present perfect 14-03-12
Is formed with have /has + past participle.
To form regular past participles have to add 'ed' to the verb
Example: finish - finished
tips
If the verb ends in a syllable has a vowel + consonant have to add aconsonant.
Example: stop - stopped
If the verb has two syllables and the stress is on the second you have to add a consonant
Example: admit - ADMITTED
If the verb ends in consonant + and you have to remove theletter and add 'FDI'.
Example: study - Studied
If the verb ends in a vowel + y just add 'ed'.
Example: play - played
There are also many irregular verbs.
We use the present perfect
1. When there is a link to this.
examples:
Sarah has gone to Bath. Sarah has gone to Bath (now in Bath).
I've lost my keys. I lost my keys. (I had my keys but not where they are now).
It does not say when theaction happened.

2. To talk about something that started in the past and continues to the present.

To form the present perfect questions you have to put:
Have / has + subject + past participle
example:

To form negative sentences have to put:
Subject Have not / Has not + past participle
example:
I started reading the book Has not yet. He has not started reading the book yet.
