English - Lesson 13: Present Continuous
Now we know the gerund, we are ready to learn the time continuum, with which we will be able to express more complexideas.

The English lesson is devoted to this continuous tense that expresses actions of this but with some nuances that distinguish this simple.

Before seeing how to use the present continuous,let's see how it is formed. Later we will see how denying this tense and how to form questions with it.

Below is a table showing the continuous present tense. From this table we will see how thistense is formed.

You see, to form the present continuous verb to be used as the auxiliary and main verb in gerund. What matters is the gerund construction, and once that is done, insert the verb tobe for use as an auxiliary.

Using the present continuous
We use this tense to express different things in different circumstances:

1.For refer to actions that are being developed at the sametime it is spoken.

I am reading a book -> I'm reading a book (in right now)
2.Tambien use the present continuous to describe things that happen around the time when we're talking.

She isStudying Inglés -> She is esstudiando English (not just now)
3.Podemos use the Present Continuous to refer to actions that have taken place with some Freq.

You are always working ->You're always working (it does frequently)
4.When talking about a future action we have already decided that we will develop. In this case we mention the time in which we will develop the action.

Iam going to Madrid next week -> I'm Madrid biene week
Negation and interrogation of the present continuous
To deny this continuous particle we have to put NOT between the auxiliary and mainverb. For questions we must put first the assistant and then the personal pronoun.

I am not eating now -> I'm not eating now
Are you eating? -> Are you eating?
