1. PRESENT PERFECT SIMPLE

Look at the following sentences from the audio.

- Have you booked your flight yet?
- Of course, I have (booked my airline tickets).
- I’ve had mytickets for more than a month.
- I haven’t booked those (train tickets).
- I’ve had (a warm sweater) since I was 18.
- I haven’t had one (camera) since I went camping last year.
- I’ve already asked mybrother to lend me his (camera).
- Have you booked anything (accommodation) yet?
- I’ve always taken my tent away with me on vacation.
- You’ve never been to Alaska.
- Have you ever been on ahunting trip?
- I have (been on a hunting trip).

PRESENT PERFECT SIMPLE
USAGE
1. Actions that began in the past and continue up to the present (continuously), with the possibility of futureoccurrence.

* I’ve had my tickets for more than a month.
* I’ve had (a warm sweater) since I was 18.
* My cousin has worked for a travel agency for 15 years.

2. Actions that havehappened several times in isolation in the past, with the possibility of future occurrence.

* I’ve always taken my tent away with me on vacation.
* My wife has been to Cancun several timesbefore.

3. Actions that have happened only once or a few times but that are part of our experiences because they are important.
* You’ve never been to Alaska.
* I have (been on a huntingtrip).
* I have traveled by plane only once.

4. Recent and finished actions which have present or future implications.

* I’ve already asked my brother to lend me his (camera).
* I’vealready got some hiking boots.
