Introduction:
“Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, this meeting is to let them know our town on the Costa Brava, and they can see first-hand the charm of our surroundings and not just landscape,but architectural and cultural”.
Sant Feliu de Guíxols is a town located in the heart of the Empordà Costa Brava, thanks to its mild climate, surrounded by a landscape full of contrasts. Come anddiscover the coastline of cliffs dotted with small coves, walk to the beach and let yourself be carried away by the charm of the surrounding natural areas, such as the bulk of the Gavarres- Ardenya .The architectural ensemble of the monastery is the best example of the heritage town, and retains such important elements as the oldest part, the Roman Porta Ferrada (tenth century), which has become asymbol. The church of Our Lady of the Angels, the towers and the Horn of smoke also are part of the monastery, which now houses the History Museum of the City and soon will host the Art CentreCollection Catalan Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza
The city's past, focusing on the cork industry and capers, has left a significant architectural legacy.
