Dead and Caspian Sea
Two interesting bodies of water that have called humanity’s attention are TheDead and The Caspian sea because of their curious Geographical position. This lakes are of the most visited natural water formations in the world. There are a lot of characteristics todiscuss and compare about both of this amazing creations of nature.
First, The Dead Sea is very popular because of its saltiness. It is almost 10 times saltier than the ocean’s water and it isalso the lake in the lowest position under the sea level (423 m) something that has awakened scientists curiosity and there have been created to very interesting hypothesis about the cause ofthis natural phenomena. This geographical characteristic is as amazing as the surprising size of the Caspian Sea.
The Caspian Sea with 371.000 square kilometers of surface area is thebiggest lake on the surface of earth. Ancient peoples that inhabited its surroundings confused it and thought it was part of the ocean because of its incredible size and its saltiness (1.2%). Itis a fact that the Caspian Sea was once part of the Ocean. But it became landlocked 5.5 million years ago due to the formation of a land elevation (tectonic uplift) and a lowering sealevel.
This two astonishing water forms are very interesting; and I’m looking forward to visit them. It is said that the saltiness of The Dead Sea is used as a therapy for skin diseases andthere are companies that use its components for products to improve people’s health.
In conclusion these lakes are not just some water formations; they have medical benefits for those whobathe on them. It can be seen that there are things we can’t believe or aren’t aware of that are so surprising about nature and the universe, things we don’t think are possible but are.
