PRIDE AND PREJUDICE
The story is basically about Elizabeth Bennet, an independent young girl, who lives in Hartford shire, England with her four sisters, her mother, and her father, around the1800´s period of England. She is her father's favorite and inherits his intelligence and wit, which leads her into prejudice, but she mostly is wise and mature enough to overcome her prejudices. Theprincipal objective of her mom is getting for her and her sisters a wealthy rich man who gives a family a prestige name and social status.
When Mr. Bingley, a handsome and rich young bachelor, arrives tostay a short season in Hartford shire, Mrs. Bennet immediately tries to get one of her daughters to marry him. Bingley quickly falls in love with Jane (Elizabeth oldest sister), who is a very prettybut shy girl, such as Mr. Bingley is, despite of Bingley shows favor to Jane.
In a typical party of 1800´s England, Mr. Darcy meets Elizabeth and she avoids him as much as possible. She thoughts Mr.Darcy is proud and reserved at first, it becomes obvious of his fondness for Elizabeth. Convention, however, restricts his affection for her, because he is rich and high on the social ladder and he islooking a girl with the same social status as him, and Elizabeth comes from a middle-class family.
He thinks the Bennet family only wants to take advantage of his friend, Mr. Bingley and he doeseverything for Mr. Bingley and Jane separate their ways and Mr. Bingley tells Jane that they have no intentions of returning to Nether field anytime soon and he will prefer to marry another woman, leavingJane sad and Elizabeth furious with him And Mr. Darcy.
Elizabeth meets Mr. Wickham, a handsome but liar man who tells her falsehoods about his relationship with Mr. Darcy, that he was cheated out ofa piece of inheritance from Darcy’s father.
