Green space “National Park Cimatario”

The national park “Cimatario” is formed by 20 properties, 8 are common properties (1938.70 hectares) and 12 are particular properties (539.16 hectares), thetotal area is 2447.86 hectares.

Estate of Querétaro, municipalities: Querétaro, Corregidora and Huimilpan.

Objectives
In the problematic of the human settlements is important the control of the contamination and the environmental surety, for this reason is essentialestablish green spaces that help in the ecology improvement.
In the environs of the Querétaro city exist a group of hills, maybe the most important is the “Cerro del Cimatario”, this hill since timeimmemorial is one of the favorite strolls of the population of Queretaro, so is favorable the creation of a national park in this area, which serve as recreation space and contribute in the preservationof the environment.
The history importance of this place is the fact that in the independent movement the battle of the 30 versus the 400 was join, where the minority group appertaining to“Trigarante” Army got the victory front the “Virreinal” Army.
Administration
In October 16 of 1996 was conceded to government of Querétaro Estate the administration, preservation, development and vigilance ofthe National Park “Cimatario” by the SEMARNAT (Secretariat of Environment and Natural Recourses for his initials in Spanish).
The board of “friends of the Cimatario” has supported in actions ofadministration, preservation programs, prevention and fight against forest fire, tourism and construction of infrastructure.
