PromPerú Proméxico and sign cooperation agreement in Foreign Trade
ProMéxico and the Commission for the Promotion of Peru Export and Tourism (PromPeru) signed a collaboration agreement with theobjective of promoting greater trade between the two nations, through trade and investment missions, as well as exchange information on the two markets, that will encourage greater participation ofbusinessmen from both countries.

Trade relations between Mexico and Peru have had positive growth in recent years, reaching in 2008 an amount of more than 1.607 million dollars, but it is necessary toincrease trade through agreements promoting a better understanding of both markets.

Signed by the Director General of ProMéxico, Bruno Ferrari and Secretary General PromPeru Pajares Victoria delPilar, the agreement provides for a constant flow of communication and each of the markets, exchange of experiences, technical assistance and cooperation, developing profiles, studies, projects,schemes, internships and seminars, as well as the organization of technical missions for the development of the Peruvian and Mexican export supply of value-added products.

In addition both institutionshave agreed to work together in strengthening the Iberoamerican Network of Trade Promotion Organizations (Red Ibero) that brings together 22 institutions, which aims to unite efforts in promoting tradeand investment opportunities in the area. Studies indicate that there ProMéxico business and investment opportunities in sectors such as infrastructure, electronics, appliances, automobiles,vehicles, industrial machinery, steel and metal products, among others, which can lead to significantly increase the trade relationship with Peru. Peru has become the ninth largest trading partner of ourcountry in Latin America and the Caribbean, to register between January and August this year 589 million dollars.
