PROPOSAL
Introduction
This proposal contains my suggestions for our country’s contribution to the international festival in London.
A captivating nation
Each of theseventeen autonomous communities that form my country has something to contribute to the whole national composition. From north to south, including Ceuta, Melilla and the Canary andBaleares archipelagoes, all of the places here could have something special. They can show you our interesting and changing history, our catholic culture, among other things likethe Muslim traces, and definitely, the heterogeneity of the nation.
Spanish nature
I recommend stressing the importance of natural places all along the country. Here you canfin amazing beaches like the Canary or the Costa del Sol ones; spectacular mountains to ski, climb or just to enjoy the landscape, as it can be done in Sierra Nevada or in thePyrenees’ ones; or also endangered and unique animal species like the Iberian lynx or typical cultivations like the olive tree.
Arts
There is no doubt about the inestimablevalue of the Spanish culture. From flamenco music and dance to our particular films, passing by the food creations or the paintings… I suggest we prepare a big display of paintingsby Murillo, Picasso, Dalí, Goya, etc., apart from preparing a major cultural with theater to play best Almodóvar or Amenábar films, another hall where anybody could enjoy ourmusic, see our fashion designers’ collections (David Delfín, Loewe, Victorio&Luccino…) and finally taste our awesome regional foods from paella to basque cod, for exemple.Conclusion
My proposal would give visitors a real impression of the marvelous Spanish culture, and I think that if it counts with your approval it would amaze all of them.
