U.S. Flag
The U.S. flag consists of thirteenhorizontal bars, seven red and six white alternating, and a blue rectangle in the upper left corner of the industry with fifty white five-pointed stars. The bars represent the original thirteen coloniesthat became independent from the United Kingdom and the stars to the states forming the Union. It has a great similarity with the flag of the British Company of the East Indies, which possibly wasinspired.
History
The flag of the United States has been amended 26 times. The version with 48 stars lasted 47 years, until the adoption of the 49 stars on July 4, 1959. The mark was beaten by thecurrent 50-star version was adopted on July 4, 1960
