DESCRIPTION OF LEARNERS
Profile
Age: 14 – 18 years old.
Sex: 32 female, 21male.
Social/Cultural background: Most of them don´t have enough resources to solve their necessities, their knowledge in the English areas is poor, they use it for songs, games, sports, etc.Students don´t talk about culture, because they feel it`s boring, so we as a teacher has to encourage them to feel more comfortable with this.
Occupations: Most of them only are students, but some have towork in places where they have possibility to do both, ( coffe internet, taxi driver, central de abastos, selling sweets, etc.)
Motivations/attitude: The students aren´t interested in learn alanguage, only are in this course because they have to pass the subject, most of them only want to finish the school because they parents forced them to do it, only less of them want to continue studying,the students attitude is lazy and they don´t want to do the activities. As a teacher need to try to do classes more enjoyable to catch the students´ attention.
Educational background: Students´knowledge is only what they learnt at secondary school, 3 of them speak English because they lived in USA, but don´t know about grammar rules, 1 studied in a bilingual school so he know the idiom.
Level:Basic
Interest: They are interest in music, sports, fashion, video games and parties, and only want to pass the course.
Students don´t like the idiom, but know it is important to do different thingsin situations like: Ordering food in a restaurant, taking public transport, receiving phone calls, watching television, watching movies, listening to English music/concerts, visiting other Englishspeaking countries, use English related to your work, asking for information, talking with friends, playing video games, buying in stores and supermarkets, etc. So in this way students need to work to...
