RESUMEN
En el presente trabajo se describe el proceso del duelo centrado en la oncología, teniendo en cuenta
que el objetivoterapéutico va a ser la unidad Paciente/ Familia/ Enfermera por considerar que dicha
relación en el proceso del duelo en oncología no solo es posible, sino que necesaria y beneficiosa.
Cuando se habla de cáncer se está haciendo referencia, en muchas ocasiones, a una situación de
deterioro y muerte, lo que va a suponer un gran impacto emocional tanto para la familia como para el
paciente. Estasituación de pérdida es un hecho terrible, difícil de aceptar que genera mucha angustia y
obliga a vivir el duelo. Por otro lado, durante las diferentes etapas del tratamiento, las manifestaciones
emocionales más importantes son las de la fase terminal cuando no se puede dar una respuesta curativa
sino que el objetivo es cuidar.
La enfermería juega un papel relevante en todo este proceso, porello la última parte de esta
monografía aborda el duelo desde la perspectiva enfermera remarcando la necesidad de adquirir
habilidades y recursos para realizar intervenciones de enfermería encaminadas a ayudar a las personas
en duelo.

ABSTRAT
This paper describes the grieving process focused on oncology, bearing in mind that the therapeuticgoal
is to be the unit Patient/ Family/ Nurse due to consider that such a relationship in the grieving process in
oncology is not only possible, but that necessary and beneficial.
When talking about cancer being referenced, in many cases, lead to deterioration and death situation,
what is going to be a great emotional impact for both the family and the patient. This loss is a terrible
fact,difficult to accept that generates a lot of anguish and forces grieve. Moreover, during the various
stages of treatment, most important emotional displays are those concerning to terminal phase, when
you can not give a healing answer but the aim is to care.
Nursing plays an important role in this process, so the last part of this paper deals with the grieving
nurse perspective emphasizing theneed to acquire skills and resources to perform nursing interventions
aimed at helping people in mourning.
