PUERTO VIEJO, LIMON

Puerto Viejo’s town is located in Limón on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica. It is a little town surrounded by beautiful clearwater beaches. It is a slow and relaxed place, built around a bay under Afro-Caribbean style. In my own opinion, this is the perfect place to go on vacations because it has itall. In the center of the town you can find all kind of services like banks, a clinic, supermarkets, shops, a “movie bar theater” and many international restaurants.
It issaid that this place was founded by the Afro-Caribbean people century years ago. If you go to visit Monkey Point (Punta Mona), after walking half an hour, you can find there the“Jamaican Tomb” that it is said, belongs to the first Jamaican emigrant who came to Puerto Viejo.
Each year, Puerto Viejo attacks plenty of people. Here you can find severallodges with high, medium and low prices. It is very ecological; much of the region is under protection by the Costa Rican government as wildlife reserve. The place has manybeautiful beaches as Punta Uvita , Playa Chiquita, Salsa Brava and Manzanillo. Salsa Brava is downtown and it is visited specially by surfers. Punta Uvita and Playa Chiquita arebeaches surrounding by the jungle where you can enjoy swimming, snorkeling or just getting a tan color. Manzanillo is a very attractive beach because in this place the BaulaTurtle spawn her eggs. It is very exciting to have the experience of seen the little turtles broken down the eggs and walk to the sea!
Puerto Viejo is much more than only beaches.This a peaceful place where you can share with people of different customs, you can taste food from all countries and also you can feel the nature with its entire splendor.
