1. What are the comparative advantages of the tourism destination: Tambopata?
Tambopata is Natural Reserve that conserves a wild pristine flora andfauna. Knowing this the main comparative advantages are the nature, weather and natives that lives there since centuries and share their ancestor knowledge about the relation between humans and nature.2. What type of visitors arrives in Tambopata?
Tambopata is intended for knowledgeable people who enjoy learning and having new experiences in a sustainable environment. For the most part theinterests of these people are mixed with the objectives of the activity. This people generally are adult people, students, researchers and there are special programs for children’s.
3. What is the tourismproduct?
The tourism product in this case is defined by the ecotourism activity, ie all the operations are consciously made following guidelines for sustainability. For example the lodge was madeusing the materials and techniques of the local natives, the guides are prepared in natures topics, the local people are part of the business (participate directly on the economics profits). Theattractive is the pristine nature well conserve by the ecotourism activities in all the aspect of commercialization.
4. Do you consider that it is a competitive tourism product?
Definitely is one of thebest examples about a competitive tourism product in Peru. The way that the actions are developing is part of a well tourism plan made in conjunction with the interest and objectives of the localpeople. The direct negotiation between the investors and the owners of the land sharing the same interest to conserve the nature and increase the socioeconomic level of locals made of this project a welltourism product developed.
