1. IMPORTANCE OF READING TO CHILDREN.
The importance of reading to childrencannot be over emphasized. It is also a great way to focus on the family.  With that in mind, "Little Ones Reading Resource" is dedicated to every child and every family out there and to educating us "big" people about the importance of reading to children and its role in child development.
Every child deserves to have a good book read to him/her. Every child deserves to have good books he/shecan call his/her very own, stored on his/her very own book shelf where he can pull them out and "read" them any time he wants.
The importance of reading to children is significant in child development, and reading books to little ones at an early age is essential.   In fact, reading children’s stories aloud is one of the most important activities we, as parents, grandparents, teachers, andcare-givers, can do for our kids.   The importance of reading to children plays out in an important part of developmental, emotional, and learning issues from bonding and security . . . to learning to read . . . to future success.

2. HOW TO GUIDE CHILDREN’S ATTITUDES TOWARD READING AND THEIR LITERACY DEVELOPMENT.
Children's literacy development has attracted the attention because of what has beentermed the "literacy crisis", and also because children's literacy development determines children's future success in reading and writing.

Many researchers and teachers share similar view about reading and it is that schools, teachers, parents, and the society should provide chances for children to access a large amount of books.

Reading is considered a process of getting meaning from thetexts, otherwise it is not reading. Whether children read or not is determined by their attitudes toward reading and if their negative attitude toward reading is negative will hinder their reading improvement.

There are various factors that influence children's attitudes toward reading: children's personal experiences in reading, children's confidence in reading, parents' attitudes towards reading, and teachers' ways of teaching.

Children can find their identities in the classroom, and may find that reading is related in many ways to their lives. Teachers and peers can help children to build their confidence in reading. It’s a fact that children who lack confidence often suspect their reading ability and the inappropriate interpretation of standardized tests can hurt children'sself-confidence.

3. EARLY LITERACY AND PARENTS HELP.-

Little children have to be motivated by her parents to read in some basic ways :

The parents can use big colored letters that they can manipulate and at the same time take one, pronouncing the sound of it. Also when mom and dad take the children to the supermarket they can show the names of the things in the shopping list and in the signs ofthe store, and at the same time point the articles and let their kids touch them to find a relation between the name and the object.

Another activities the parents can plan with their children is that everyday instead of watching television, they dedicate some time to be together: the mother may read a big book to the children and point with her finger the lines that she’s reading at the timeshe shows also the pictures. Meanwhile the father takes the little baby in his arms and he may also listen and see the activities; even when the baby doesn’t understand yet what is happening, he/she is paying attention and it will help later in his reading process.

Specialists say that “reading is a pleasure” and that parents should transmit love for reading to their children, so they will...
