Community Entailment´s Project.
I interviewed some students from 8th level of English career, their names name are Simon Vargas, Gustavo Robles and William Zapata. Based on what each one said about “Community Entailment´s Project”, I can mention that there are advantages and disadvantages of working in this project and also I realized that this project has benefits for the society and the entireworld.
One of the advantages of working in this project Simon and Gustavo agree that “a future teacher keeps a good relationship with youth students and knows how they behave in class” which it is very important because a future teacher has to be a friend for students, but without leaving of his position. On the other hand, William says that “a future teacher has to mention some rules sat thebeginning of classes for making students follow them and the discipline isn’t already a problem”, it helps students are in silence and there aren´t any discipline problem in class. Another advantage Simon and William agree is that “a future teacher gains experience when he or she has the opportunity to give classes in an institution “and in this moment they realize if their methods of teaching areright or wrong and their students are learning what they explains, but William thinks that “it is also important to know the lifestyle of students”, it helps a future teacher applies some methodological strategies or techniques in order to make students don´t have problems in their learning teaching process. Also, students who were to attend to extra classes on Saturday at Atahualpa highschool(Community Entailment´s Project), Simon and Gustavo say that “students get benefits because they didn´t pay anything for any class they received “ and it means that there is an agreement between English career of Technical University of Ambato and Atahualpa highschool for making students get feedback about something they haven´t understood during regular classes, this could be considered as anotherimportant advantage, but William thinks that “this isn´t an advantage because it isn´t a good idea to teach classes without at least receiving a small amount of money in order to motivate future teachers get accustomed to their professionl life”, it means that any future teacher has to teach something even though he doesn´t receive a small amount of money for at least reduce his expenses or helphimself of any way.
One of the disadvantages of working in this project Simon and William say that “the majority of time a future teacher has to spend teaching classes”, it means the whole morning and the afternoon too and because of that a future teacher doesn´t have enough time to study University´s exams and to do homework of some subjects for the English career. However, Gustavo doesn´t matterthe time, he says that “Atahualpa highschool infrastructure isn´t appropriate”, it means that a future teacher has to deal with problems like there is no electricity in some classrooms and there isn´t enough space in classrooms in order to facilitate the teacher´s work. Another disadvantage Simon says that “the period of time that a future teacher has to spend teaching classes in this project istoo much “because a future teacher has to be prepared to not making his or her classes are boring and if it doesn´t happen, students who received these classes would feel bored and thought that the period of classes is exaggerating and left paying attention during classes. Nevertheless, Gustavo mentions that the time isn´t a problem, he says that “the real problem he realizes is that the level ofEnglish students have is really low”, it means that they don´t any motivation or someone who persuades them to learn English as an opportunity to learn something that can help them in their future lives.
