FABLE THE TORTOISE AND THE HARE
One day the Hare was sitting under a tree when the Tortoise slowly walked past. The Hare laughed at the Tortoise and said, “your legsare so short and you are so slow. I can run very fast, but you take all day to travel a short distance. “The Tortoise replied, “you are fast, but I can beat you in arace.” The Hare thought this was impossible and agreed race the Tortoise. They arranged to have a race the next week.
On the day of the race all the animal were waiting. The Fox blew the whistle and the Hare and the Tortoise started the race. The Hare ran off very fast, while the Tortoise started walking slowly. After a few minutes theHare was near the winning line, but because he was running so fast he became tired out and he stopped for a few minutes to catch his breath, and he fell asleep. While theHare was sleeping the Tortoise continued walking slowly.
The Tortoise never stopped and after about two hours he was a few meters from the winning line. When the Harewoke up from his sleep, he saw the Tortoise near the winning line Then he ran as fast as he could, but it was too late . When he was nearly at the winning line theTortoise won the race.
Moral: Slow but steady wins the race.
