Frida Kahlo
Good morning I am going to talk about Frida Kahlo, all the things she did and the things that happen throughher life.
Magdalena Carmen Frieda Kahlo y Calderón on July 6, 1907, in Coyocoán, Mexico City, Mexico. Considered one of Mexico’s greatest artists, Frida Kahlo beganpainting after she was severely injured in a bus accident.She had two older sisters, Matilde and Adriana, and her younger sister, Cristina, was born the year afterFrida.
Around the age of 6, she contracted polio disease had damaged her right leg and foot.
After a crash in a bus she get paralyze all over her legs, she can’t walkor do anything with her legs, that’s way she decided to paint.
All her paintings were she with animal, and others represent all the things that pass through herlife.
In 1928 she begging a relationship with Diego Rivera, she meet him in a school while he was making a mural, they relationship last a lot of years.
After a lotof years of a good relationship the problems started and they decided to divorce, but then both of them decide to live in separate houses that were joined with abridge, that house was named “the blue house”.
She dies in April 1954 because of poor health, or, as some reports indicated, a suicide attempt. No matter her physicalcondition, Kahlo did not let that stand in the way of her political activism.
Since her death, Kahlo’s fame as an artist has only grown. Her beloved Blue House wasopened as a museum in 1958. The feminist movement of the 1970s led to renewed interest in her life and work, as Kahlo was viewed by many as an icon of female creativity.
