Story Summary
Thisis a boy named Hughie Erskine was very handsome, but he had many skills and less about making money. The girl he loved was Laura Merton daughter of acolonel. The two loved each other very much and were a nice couple.
But her father would not let marry them, only provided it with 10,000 pounds.
Once Hughiegoing to Holland Park, step to greet his friend Alan Trevor. They got along very well. They talked and seeing that he was painting a beggar asked TrevorHughie as a model and gained much won for his paintings and told him a shilling an hour for his paintings and two thousand guineas.
Trevor who I talk tothe frames and Hughie told him to wait a moment, in that, Hughie saw the beggar and that was very poor view gave a sovereign, the beggar thanked him. After itleft the studio Hughie stunned by the situation.
After trevor told that the beggar was Baron Hausberg and was aware of the situation that happened withhis girlfriend Laura. Hughie felt like a fool for giving him money.
The next day a messenger arrived and Hausberg Baron gave an envelope and sent himBaron brought in a check for ten thousand pounds saying it was a gift so he could marry his girlfriend. Alan was at the wedding godfather and Baron made aspeech.
