FOREING LANGUAJES LEARNING IN MY COUNTRY
How many languages are you able to soeak?
The purpose of this report is to analyze the way people learn foreign languajes, focusing on the languages whichare in grat demand and the methods teachers use. I will also make suggestions in order to improve the learning process.
According to a recent poll made by the goverment education department, 70%of the spanish with ages between 19 and 35 yeras old are studying English, having become this language the most popular followed by far by other non-lating languages such as german or chinese. Thisreality could feel weird to a foreigner if we know that in this country students attend English classes five hours a week at school from 3 to 18 years-old.
So apparently, something is not working on thelearning system.
The unsuccess can be explained as a consequence of the lack of joy and creativity in the exercises and activities set by the language teachers. The lists of verbs and vocabularyfor revising are good examples of these kind of activities well-known by the teachers and absolutely boring and non-appealing for students. Mreover, the language programme focus too much on grammar,leading apart other aspects of the languaje as fluency, which is probably the most entertaining part and even the most useful for the future.
On the other hand, in my country there are alsoalternative ways of leraning languages which are effective. You can find plenty of private languaje schools where they use dynamic techniques to learn and there are organisations that plan meetings betweenforeigners and peolple from the country where you practise the language while have yourself fun and make new friends.
From my point of view, concentrate more on the listening and speaking of thelanguage would be one of the key aspects to improve the learning method and I suggest to do it through moovies and songs. In addition I would try to make up enjoyable games where the students explore the...
