INTRODUCTION

The aim of this report is to show all the cultural opportunities that can be found in the “Eje Cafetero” and all the advantages that exist when you live in this place. First of all, a quick overview about this sector is going to be made. Taking into account that the eje cafetero is conformed by three departments I am going totalk a little about the economy of each sector and some industrial divisions. Later on some of the cultural events that occur in each of the departments and cities are going to be explained. and finally a conclusión will be set out.

The Eje cafetero is a topografphic region of Colombia where much of the country's coffee is grown. In Eje Cafetero's towns and villages, coffee is a way of life -the economy depends on it. The Coffee Circuit covers the Departments of Caldas, Risalralda and Quindío. The capital cities of the first three departments mentioned are Manizales, Pereira and Armenia respectively.This region witnessed the prosperity that coffee brought to the country in the last century. In periods of crisis, thanks to the perseverance of their people, these Departments haveturned to tourism and have been generous with hospitality to all their visitors.

Risaralda

It is located in the western central region of the country and part of the Paisa Region. Its capital is Pereira. It was created in 1966 and extends from the Andean Cordillera Occidental across the Cauca River valley to the Cordillera Central. Agriculture is the predominant economic activity; sugarcane,beans, corn, bananas, cacao, and tobacco are among the leading crops. Risaralda is very well known for the high quality of its coffee, and a booming industry: clothes, food, trading of goods and services. Considerable forest and mining resources and hydroelectric potential offer good prospects for development.
One of the characteristics of the spirit Pereira is its ability to cooperate, which hasallowed to build, through community action, major public works such as Matecaña airport and the Olympic Village. In Pereira are some of the most prominent bronze sculptures like the statue of the liberador, Simon Bolivar, that was made by the artista Rodrigo arenas Betancourt in 1956, and four years later was placed on its pedestal in the plaza that honors the memory of the hero.

Three points onthe perimeter of the city are a must visit for those interested in culture. The public library is an old restored house, which operated the train station, located in the park Olaya Herrera. The church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, and the archaeological museum Jaime Mejia, composed of about eight hundred pieces of gold and ceramics.

Caldas
The department has limits on the north by thedepartment of Antioquia, on the east by the departments of Cundinamarca and Boyacá, on the west by the department of Risaralda and south by the same department and Tolima. Caldas is also part of the Colombian Coffee-Growers Axis region . is a department named after Colombian patriotic figure Francisco José de Caldas. It is also part of the Paisa Region and its capital is Manizales. Caldas economy is basedon coffee, its main product, which is the second largest domestic producer. Transport, finance and other services necessary for coffee production also occupy an important role. Its capital city has a rigorous Quimbaya ancestor worship, expressed in the conservation of gold and ceramic pieces. In the center we found the powerless Manizales Gothic cathedral.
The famous Manizales Fair began in 1951with the first centenary of the city. It started with the presentation of grand Bullfights and with typical "Manolas" parade Due to huge popularity, more shows and presentations have been brought into the fair, including the International Coffee Beauty Pageant and bullfighting. The fair is the second biggest celebration in the country, after the Barranquilla Carnival.
